It really is impossible in our tropical climate to be "bug free".
I'm often asked why do we have so many bugs in Florida? I usually answer we asked them to leave but they said they were here first!

Even with the best of treatments on a regular basis bugs will crawl under your front door to come inside when it rains...so be sure to have a good weather seal on there. They will crawl up your drain pipes and end up in your dishwasher. If this happens the best thing to do is turn it on for a cycle, that will kill them!

Once inside your home your pest control is effective if the bugs start to slow down. If you find dead bugs it's working fine! What pest control doesn't do is put an invisible super shield around your home! Even superman would have trouble with that one. Joking aside here are some things you can do to minmise the effects and appearances that bugs make in your Florida home. Thx




1) Have your home sprayed inside and out on a regular basis
2) Ensure all fresh food is kept in the fridge
3) Breakfast cereals should be kept in a sealed plastic container
4) Dried food such as sugar keep it in sealed plastic container
5) No candy, snacks, or drinks except water allowed in bedrooms
6) Candy, snacks, etc allowed in kitchen area ONLY
7) If you spill something clean it up properly imediately
8) Don't go out of the day and leave dishes in the sink
9) Don't go out for the day and leave food out in the open
10)Don't leave sugar or food on the kitchen counter tops
11)Don't leave puddles of water around anywhere
12)Hose the pool deck down after eating out there
13)Don't leave coke or such out on the pool deck
14)Don't leave any wet clothing on the pool deck
15)Don't leave wet towels on the pool deck
16)Keep your home well stocked with trash bags
17)Double bag any item that has strong smells or may leak
18)Ensure your have good sturdy trash cans
19)Be sure to put your trash out on garbage days
20)Have some non toxic to humans bug spray on hand
