STR House Cleaning Here we go, this is a biggy for many of us. I hate dust, I hate dusty lamps, dusty pictures, dusty plants and dusty furniture. It makes me sneeze as I have allergies to house dust. If your present standard of house keeping is dusty then it's time for a change. Here's a list of what should be clean every time.
Ensure you leave plenty of non toxic cleaning supplies under your kitchen sink or in your utility room. A pack or two of spare light bulbs. Plenty of trash bags. A screw driver with multiple heads and small step ladders. Vacuum cleaner bags and belts. These few items could save you a fortune. As guests get the idea to pick up and clean up after themselves. Light bulb gone out in the bathroom? Never mind, they saw the pack in the cupboard, instead of calling in maintenance they will just change it themselves. Don't you just love subliminal messages?
Living & Dining Areas
Clean and check under sofa cushions etc, love seats, chairs, check lamps for dust and bulbs, tables,TV's, DVD players, carpets, ceiling fans, pictures, florals dusted, vac'd and checked for damage etc.
Kitchen
Range/stove cleaned, fridge cleaned inside and top, dishes glasses, silverware, pots and pans cleaned and put away. Floors mopped cabinets wiped down as needed. Check on status of kitchen ware,do we need new dish towels? How are the pans etc?
Bedrooms
All sheets, pillow cases every time, mattress pads and pillow protectors as needed. Under beds to check for magazines & candy wrappers etc.Carpets, pictures and lamps etc.
Pool Area
Don't trash all pool toys leave some that are in good shape for the next guests. Hose down deck area if needed, check tables and chairs and wipe down.
Trash
A Large supply of trash bags should be left at the house under the kitchen sink. This usually ensures that the guests will bag it up and put it out on the right days. When the housekeepers clean they can use the bags provided and leave it securely in the garage. If the incoming guests are told they have been left trash bags and cleaning supplies as a courtesy they usually don't mind putting the trash cans at the bottom of the drive!
